About Instant Family
Hoping to start a family, Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) turn to the foster care system to make their dream come true. The couple soon learns the joys and frustrations of parenthood when they decide to adopt three siblings, including a rebellious 15-year-old girl. Foster and adoption workers and families have praised Instant Family as one of the best and most authentic movies ever made about the lives of these families and the joys and struggles of foster and adoption relationships.

About National Adoption Month
National Adoption Month is an initiative of the Children’s Bureau with a goal to increase national awareness and bring attention to the need for permanent families for children and youth in the U.S. foster care system.
This year’s National Adoption Month theme is “In Their Own Words: Lifting Up Youth Voices.” It is well known that teenagers are less likely to be adopted, often because of their age, and are much more likely to age out of foster care without strong or stable family support. Securing lifelong connections for teens in foster care, both legally and emotionally, is a critical component in determining their future achievement, health, and well-being.
