About the Event

Join the Families Forever team for a conversation series for adoptive and guardianship families. This month, we will start our conversation about the book Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew by Sherrie Eldridge. Written by a woman who was adopted herself, this book gives voice to children’s unspoken concerns, and shows adoptive parents how to free their kids from feelings of fear, abandonment, and shame.

What to expect from this book club:

  • Monthly group discussions
  • Connections with other parents, guardians and professionals
  • Practical tools for supporting adopted children
  • Facilitation by the NCHS Families Forever team

Participants are asked to acquire the book prior to the first session. This book is available through thriftbooks.com, amazon.com and local libraries.

This book club will meet virtually via Zoom and is open to individuals statewide!
